download GD YouTube vids (see Scrim's post)
that's right deadfreaks, you can have copies of these great vids for your own enjoyment. Here's what I recommend, and this may not work for all of you.
1. Get the new Mozilla browser updates (easy and fast). There is a new function under the "tools" pulldown bar called "Download helper".
When you are on a webpage with DLoadable stuff, this option opens a window that lets you downlaod the media from the page, such a You Tube page.
2. Almost all the vids on You Tube are in a format called "FLV" files. Once you get them, there is only one media player that can play them - Video LAN player.
3. Video LAN is amazing - it plays almost anything, really!
If it's a video, even a DVD, Video LAN can play it.
Go get it, FREE, here -
4. Once you have a bunch of FLV video files, you can burn them to a CD as a data "ISO CD ROM" type disc, that's a data CD, not an audio CD.
I am warehousing lots of great videos and documentaries from You Tube this way.
And by the way, for those with slower connections, once you play the downloaded video on your hard drive, you'll find the quality is much better than trying to stream it live.
Go get 'em!!!
